Changing the list of Event Types you can choose from

This How-to applies to: 2.1

Need to change the default list of event types? Read this brief how-to.

The default list of Event types you probably have to choose from is:

  • Appointment
  • Convention
  • Meeting
  • Social Event
  • Work

But what if you need to categorize your events into: Fund Raiser, Volunteer,  or Class?

You can add or change these categories if you are the site administrator:

  • Go to Site Setup and choose Zope Management Interface at the bottom of the list
  • Select portal_metadata from the long list of icons. It's usually in about the middle.
  • Now click on the Elements tab at the top of the screen.
  • On the list of things you can change, click on the Subject.
  • You should see the default Event types listed in the Vocabulary box. Change them to the subjects you want your users to see when adding Events.
  • Update your changes.
These will now appear as options when adding new events.
